2 | PRC room block extended

Three New England states may tinker with their bottle bills, with one state considering outright repeal and replacement with a comprehensive recycling program and the others looking at a modest expansion meant to bring their container deposit programs in line with the changing beverage industry.

6 | Bag bans proceed amid resistance in California


Although attempts to enact a statewide ban on plastic bags in California fell flat last year, efforts by local governments to pass ordinances outlawing the increasingly polarizing totes continue to proliferate. However, a group calling itself the Save the Plastic Bag Coalition (STPBC), headed by attorney Stephen Joseph, has slowed these efforts.
