2 | E-Scrap 2014: The meetings that matter
Start planning now for E-Scrap 2014, where you'll be able to make connections with the leading industry trade associations and groups in one convenient (and sunny) location.
In conjunction with the conference, a number of additional meetings and events will take place, including ISRI's welcome reception the evening of October 21. 7 | 2014 Recycling Innovators Forum: Submission deadline extended
The deadline has been extended until May 30 for submitting a short proposal to the second annual Recycling Innovators Forum. This is a prime opportunity if you were considering entering the competition but lacked the time to prepare your submission.
Designed to elevate and support actionable ideas that will generate real returns for recycling companies and stakeholders, the 2014 Recycling Innovators Forum enables inventors, teams, researchers, entrepreneurs and others to compete for cash prizes and industry exposure.
The second annual Recycling Innovators Forum is sponsored by Alcoa, the American Chemistry Council, Coca-Cola Recycling, Resource Recycling (the parent company of this publication) and Waste Management. The competition will be held on Sept. 15, the day before the start of the annual Resource Recycling Conference in New Orleans, and will award two $20,000 prizes: one to the top idea submitted by an individual or small group of entrepreneurs, and another to the top proposal from an established company or organization.

Dell has gained a recycled content verification from third-party certifying body UL Environment. The computer giant's OptiPlex 3030 All-In-One machines are verified to contain
a minimum of 10% post-consumer recycled content for its plastic components. Some of the recycled plastic is supplied to Dell through a partnership with original design manufacturer Wistron. More information is available here.
Data erasure firm Tabernus has released an updated version of its Enterprise Erase USB software, which allows users to configure a USB thumb drive so that it can be used to erase data on desktop or laptop computers.
