2 | E-Scrap 2011 will feature ISRI survey results

Attendees at last week's ISRI convention in Los Angeles got a sneak peak at the results of an e-scrap industry survey commissioned by the trade group. Conducted by the market research firm International Data Corp., the preliminary findings provide a useful snapshot of an industry on the rise. Approximately 30,000 workers are employed by electronics recycling firms, although the survey found most firms had fewer than 50 employees each. Computer equipment made up 60 percent of the e-scrap handled by the 174 surveyed firms.

A more thorough analysis of the data, as well as projections and trends covering the entire e-scrap industry will be presented at the E-Scrap Conference, held this year in Orlando, Florida, October 5-6.
