1 | Shockwaves felt through electronics industry


The aftermath of Japan's horrifying March 11 earthquake and resulting tsunami has thrown the global IT asset recovery industry into disarray and has created unprecedented supply disruptions for products consumed and produced by the world's third largest economy. In addition to the millions of Japanese workers affected by the disaster, transportation to, from and within Japan has proven to be exceedingly difficult due to damaged roads, bridges, railways, ports and the ongoing crisis at several of the country's nuclear power facilities. For a nation long synonymous with consumer electronics, the disaster will have several effects on electronics recycling.
