News from Every Can Counts US, Northeast Recycling Council and more

Every Can Counts US, which is operated by the Can Manufacturers Institute, opened a “Cans for Cash” Center in Greenville, Mississippi, that will pay residents $0.30 per pound of cans via a digital payment. 

The Northeast Recycling Council extended the deadline to submit abstracts for its 2025 Rethink Resource Use Conference in October. Submissions are now due April 29 at 3 p.m. EST.

Textile-to-textile recycling company Reju partnered with Italian producer responsibility organization Rematrix to take its end-of-life textiles.

Canadian reuse platform Reusables.com announced it oversubscribed its latest round of seed funding, bringing in $2.6 million to speed up its expansion of hardware-enabled reuse technology solutions. 

Statistics Canada released the results of its 2023 Waste Management Survey, finding that paper fiber made up the largest share of diverted materials at 36%.
