News from Container Recycling Institute, Denver International Airport and more

The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery published its 2025 processing payments notice and processing fees notice. Both are effective Jan. 1. 

The Container Recycling Institute recommended that CalRecycle set a higher baseline payment and account for minimum wage increases in its proposed handling fee regulations, among other suggestions. 

Denver International Airport said its new Zero Waste Valet program has resulted in 69 tons of material collected for composting and recycling in its first six months. 

Equipment manufacturer Machinex and PP recycler PureCycle Technologies announced a collaboration on a fully automated sorting system in Denver, Pennsylvania, dedicated to plastics recycling. 

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, NIOSH, published new guidelines on reducing hearing loss in recycling facility workers.

Rubicon Technologies announced Eric Bauer as its new chief financial officer. Bauer previously was CFO at Circulus.

Rumpke Waste & Recycling was targeted in an apparent cyber attack.
