American Beverage granted two Massachusetts municipalities, Falmouth and Methuen, $336,000 and $240,000, respectively, to purchase upgraded 95-gallon curbside recycling carts through its Every Bottle Back initiative. 

Ecore International will invest $25.5 million in a regional tire recycling facility in Ozark, Ala. The facility will turn used rubber into flooring and surfacing products.

The Glass Recycling Foundation has issued nearly $70,000 in grants in 2022 to improve glass recycling in North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. 

Packaging and paper company Mondi opened its first recycling laboratory in Austria to test the recyclability of paper and paper-based packaging. 

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) announced its 2022 Safety Award winners. They are: North Texas Municipal Water District – Solid Waste Department; Rumpke Waste & Recycling; Delaware Solid Waste Authority; Henrico County Solid Waste Division; and Wasatch Integrated Waste Management. 

UBQ Materials earned the UL Environmental Claim Validation for its UBQ Powder, which contains 100% post-consumer content.
