Shareholders approved the merger of Amcor and Berry Global

Austrian OMV and United Arab Emirates’ ADNOC oil companies announced that, as part of a merger between their Borealis and Borouge chemical businesses, they would buy Canada’s Nova Chemicals for $13.4 billion.   

Casella committed $1.5 million to launch a new Center for Circular Economy and Sustainability at the University of Vermont. 

Packaging manufacturer Eco-Products and collection equipment supplier Ozzi are collaborating to offer lower-upfront-cost collection equipment and Ozzi-compatible Eco-Products containers, aiming to make reusable foodservice packaging systems more accessible to businesses, colleges, hospitals and other institutions. 

Equipment supplier Machinex announced the recent completions of a 30-tons-per hour Balcones Recycling-operated MRF in Phoenix, a 25-tons-per-hour Republic Services-operated MRF in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and a 40-tons-per-hour Interstate Waste Services-operated MRF in North Arlington, New Jersey.

The Ocean Conservancy released a “Plastics Policy 101” report to share key policy solutions to address plastic pollution. It also endorsed the reintroduced Farewell to Foam Act from Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Maryland) and Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) targeting single-use plastic foam products.

Walmart said it doesn’t expect to meet its 2025 plastic and recycling targets.
