AZEK opened its $140 million, 350,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Boise. 

The Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association (CBCRA) released its 2021 annual report, showing that 72% of all containers and 80% of PET containers were recovered in Manitoba in 2021. 

PCR producer Circulus announced it received a $300 million loan from Apollo for further development of its recycling infrastructure.

Twelve Consumer Goods Forum member companies signed a letter to suppliers, regulators and investors stating there will be demand for 800,000 tons of chemically recycled material per year by 2030. Signatories included Amcor, Colgate Palmolive, Mars, Mondelēz International, PepsiCo and Unilever.

Indorama Ventures opened the largest PET recycling plant in the Philippines in partnership with Coca-Cola. 

Kraft Heinz released its 2022 environmental, social and governance report “Together at the Table,” noting that it is creating a 100% recyclable HEINZ Tomato Ketchup cap and is testing a recyclable Kraft Mac & Cheese microwavable cup. 

NEXTLOOPP released a landmark study on background contamination of post-consumer PP packaging in response to a recently enacted European Union regulation dealing with recycled plastics in direct food contact.

Julie Zaniewski took a position as senior director of sustainable packaging at PepsiCo. She was previously with Dow and Unilever.
