Abris Capital Partners, a Central European private equity investor, supported Central European recycling GreenGroup in a $134 million fundraising effort. The funding will allow GreenGroup to quadruple its RPET capacity to 28,000 tons per year. 

Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) bought Cultec, a Brookfield, Conn.-based stormwater and on-site septic wastewater products company. 

Agilyx published its 2021 sustainability report, announcing that it increased its annual goal of plastic diverted from landfill from 300,000 tons to between 650,000 and 900,000 tons by 2026, due to a growing member base. 

Grocery retailer Aldi will eliminate plastic bags from all its stores by the end of 2023. The company also released its inaugural Corporate Responsibility Progress Report, which noted that 62% of Aldi-exclusive packaging is now reusable, recyclable or compostable.

The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) released a short video on the association’s commitment to helping companies manufacture packaging compatible with current plastics recycling infrastructure. 

Marchon Eyewear will use Eastman’s Tritan Renew, made using chemically recycled plastics, for both frames and tinted lenses. 

The European Investment Bank (EIB) committed up to $20 million to the Singapore-based investment management firm Circulate Capital’s Ocean Fund I-B to help protect oceans. 

Hamilton Polymers installed an optical sorter at its Leetonia, Ohio facility capable of handling about 2,000 pounds of plastic an hour.
