Patent watchA sortation technology, an approach to carpet recycling and synthetic turf recovery – all are covered in our latest patents rundown.

A method of recycling scrap carpet is the subject of Patent No. 9,266,112, awarded to the Omaha, Neb.-based Columbia Insurance Company.

Hamburg, Germany-based CVP Clean Value Plastics GmbH was given Patent No. 9,266,257 for a method of sorting out impurities from shredded scrap plastics.

Patent No. 9,273,193 was awarded to Beaverton, Ore.-headquartered Nike, Inc. for a method of recycling ground polyurethane.

A method of recycling synthetic turf, developed by Dalton, Ga.-based Textile Management Associates, Inc., is the subject of Patent No. 9,259,861.

IBM, headquartered in Armonk, N.Y., was given Patent No. 9,255,194 for a method of chemically recycling scrap PET.
