Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory are exploring biodegradable luminescent polymers, which are light-emitting semiconductors used in digital displays.

Onepak, a digital supply chain and reverse logistics platform that facilitates the flow of used IT hardware and e-scrap for reuse, announced it had secured a $20 million investment from asset manager Nuveen. 

The U.S. Department of Energy announced a funding opportunity that includes $41 million to boost state and local governments’ ability to support battery recycling programs. Applications are due by Sept. 16.

Wildcat and Austin Elements announced they would work together to convert end-of-life batteries and manufacturing scraps into cathode materials.
