State and local recycling officials, industry stakeholders and sustainability advocates are invited to the upcoming Resource Recycling Conference, presented by Resource Recycling, Inc., Nov. 13-15 in Louisville, Kentucky, the company announced Wednesday.

The Resource Recycling Conference is one of Resource Recycling’s three annual conferences delving into all aspects of the recycling sector, and it’s the country’s largest event of its kind focusing particularly on insights, collaboration and innovation in municipal recycling and state e-scrap programs. Registration for the event will open in early May.

The conference was developed in collaboration with state recycling organizations and industry associations that include the Association of Oregon Recyclers, the California Resource Recovery Association, the Michigan Recycling Coalition, the Northeast Recycling Council, the U.S. Plastics Pact, the Can Manufacturers Institute, the Aluminum Association, the National Waste and Recycling Association, Closed Loop Partners and the Association of Plastic Recyclers, which owns Resource Recycling, Inc.

“NERC is thrilled to be engaged in such a content-rich event. The Resource Recycling Conference is distinguished as a forum for vibrant networking opportunities,” Megan Schulz-Fontes, executive director of the Northeast Recycling Council, said in a news release. “Our team looks forward to hearing from the top minds in the industry on diverse approaches to solving critical issues in the field of sustainable materials management.”

State and local recycling officials will be able to engage with industry stakeholders and share their perspectives on how to enhance the efficiency, economic viability and material generation of recycling programs. Interactive sessions, workshops and networking opportunities aim to deliver actionable insights and best practices to address the industry’s pressing challenges.

“If you work for or with a governmental entity in policy, governance or operations and can only make one national conference this year, the 2024 Resource Recycling Conference is the one to attend,” said Susan Fife-Harris, director of solid waste planning and program management for Seattle Public Utilities

“It brings together an amazing group of people with diverse interests and backgrounds to learn from each other while also challenging each other to take positive steps to enhance our local and national recycling systems, strive for a circular economy and help protect human health and the environment.”

More information about the benefits of attending is available at the RRC “Why Attend” webpage.

As an organization dedicated to building the circular economy through collaboration, Closed Loop Partners is thrilled to join this group of collaborators at the Resource Recycling Conference,” said Bridget Croke, the company’s managing director. “The event brings together key industry players and policymakers to share critical insights that can inform the development of robust recovery infrastructure and supports zero waste and circular economy goals.”
