GreenTek Solutions was selected to participate in Apple’s new Impact Accelerator program, which supports racial and ethnic minority-owned businesses in the green technology and clean energy sectors.
The Stafford, Texas ITAD firm is among the first class of 15 U.S. businesses to participate in the Impact Accelerator, which will provide them with training, expert support, networking opportunities and a chance to sign services and supply deals with Apple, according to a press release.
Part of Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative, the Impact Accelerator program is designed to help combat systemic barriers to opportunity and advance solutions for communities most impacted by climate change, according to Apple. The program is tailored to support businesses owned by Black, brown, Native American and Indigenous professionals.
GreenTek Solutions, an R2-certified Houston-area company, was founded in 2012 by Anuar Garcia, who serves as the president and CEO.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Apple,” Garcia stated in a GreenTek press release. “Their commitment to racial justice, sustainability and environmental stewardship are a perfect match for our organization’s values.”
The Impact Accelerator program is a three-month virtual program offering courses, live sessions and one-on-one meetings with Apple employees to identify opportunities to align with Apple’s environmental goals, according to GreenTek.
Apple noted that, after the program, “the companies will be considered for opportunities to act as suppliers to Apple as it works to become carbon neutral for its supply chain and products by 2030.”
