The purchase of a metals and e-scrap company will help eCycle Solutions boost its scrap electronics collection in Ontario.

Mississauga, Ontario-based eCycle Solutions recently announced it acquired GreenGo Recycling Depot, a metals recycling company with two locations in Barrie (north of Toronto). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In a press release, eCycle Solutions noted the acquisition, which was described as a diversification of the business, will increase the amount of incoming material eCycle Solutions receives and strengthen its selling power when working with downstream customers and clients.

In a press release, Terry Steine, president and owner of GreenGo, said his company has focused on nonferrous and electronics collection in the six years since he acquired it. Electronics collected at the GreenGo facilities will be shipped to the eCycle Solutions facility in Mississauga for processing.

Steine will join eCycle Solutions as senior director of strategic sourcing.

Beyond its Ontario site, eCycle Solutions has locations in Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec. In 2019, the e-scrap-focused company took a big step into the ITAD realm with its acquisition of Refreshtek.
