New York City’s curbside e-scrap program has grown to serve additional areas of the nation’s largest metropolis.

The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) announced the service is newly available in the Bronx and in eastern Queens. Residents of apartment buildings of up to nine units can make appointments for curbside collection.

The service is now available throughout all city boroughs except for Manhattan. After collection by DSNY crews, material is taken to ERI or Veolia Environmental Services for processing. The curbside program started as a pilot project on Staten Island in October 2016.

The city has a separate program, called ecycleNYC, that provides free in-building collection of e-scrap for larger apartment buildings. Material collected through that program goes to ERI.
