Amcor Rigid Plastics has produced the industry's lightest 64-ounce PET bottle. At 59 grams, it is 9 grams lighter, or 13.2 percent, than the typical 68-gram PET bottle, reports Packaging Digest .
Lawmakers, state officials and people who understand that there are real economic benefits to not burying valuable materials in the landfill will converge on Connecticut's capitol building as part of "Recycling Means Jobs Legislative Day ." People who stop by will have the chance to learn more about the state's reuse and recycling industries.
The Plastic Pollution Coalition is now accepting nominations for the Think Beyond Plastic competition, which seeks actionable ideas to cut plastic litter and pollution. Ideas must be submitted by March 10, with the winning business receiving $50,000.
