H&M looks to recycle fashion

Popular Swedish clothing maker H&M has launched a global initiative to collect used clothing for recycling, reuse and rewards.

Beginning in February 2013, customers will be able to turn in their defective or worn-out garments in H&M stores in all of the company's 48 markets. Any pieces of clothing from any brand and in any condition will be accepted. Participating customers will receive a voucher in exchange for their used garments.

The collected clothes will handled by H&M's partner, I:Collect. H&M says it hopes to find ways to reuse and recycle textile fibers creating a closed loop for the material.
