Panasonic has filed Patent Application 20120305456, outlining a method of determining whether an electronics case contains brominated flame retardants by measuring its light absorption spectrum.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland says it has found a new technique to significantly improve the overall quality of bio-based plastic packaging. According to the , the next generation of bio-based products are likely to have superior qualities to their more traditional counterparts.

CTC Plastics and Lehigh Technologies, Inc. have teamed up [1] to manufacture shipping pallets made from 100-percent recycled content. Specifically, the pallets are made from a mixture of rubber tires and scrap polypropylene.
