An important reminder: Anyone interested in providing feedback on the Partnership for Action on Computer Equipment's Guideline on Environmentally Sound Testing, Refurbishment and Repair of Used Computing Equipment [1] has until next week to submit comments. Comments and suggestions on the draft document can be made here [2].

The German Federal Ministry of Research is sponsoring a project led by engineering giant Siemens that is examining the entire life of an electric motor, including how to best recycle rare earth metals contained in them, reports CleanTechnica.com [3].

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has scheduled two Oregon E-Cycles Advisory Committee meetings for Jan. 13 and Jan. 26. Interested parties can participate via phone or webinar. More information is available here [4].
