PetroChem Wire: Recycled PP demand weak in September
PetroChem Wire: Recycled PP demand weak in SeptemberBy Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling Recycled PP prices were stable in September, with demand soft and supply tight. Still, prices held their own in September, supported by a limited supply of post-industrial PP scrap, according to PetroChemWire's Repro/Regrind Report, published on Sept. 26. Demand for recycled material was better in some segments than others, but overall it was described as lackluster. The recycled PP market, which often lags the prime market in price direction, was on the sidelines price-wise as it watched prime PP prices soften. The late-September Houston spot market for prime grade PP was at least 4 cents per pound lower than it was at the beginning of the month. This was due to lower international prime PP prices and domestic feedstock costs. The next PCW Repro/Regrind Report will be published on Oct 21.
