Recycling returns to the Big Easy
Recycling returns to the Big EasyBy Editorial Staff The City of New Orleans has launched a curbside recycling collection program for residents and small businesses. The service is available for all residents who are eligible to receive garbage collection, which includes all addresses with four units or less, as well as businesses that are not a restaurant, bar or hotel. Those interested, can sign-up online and receive a free 64.8-gallon cart. The service is not available in the French Quarter, Warehouse District or Central Business District quite yet. Materials that will be picked up for processing include paper products, plastic containers, aluminum, tin and steel cans and waxed cartons. For more, visit the New Orleans Department of Sanitation [1]. |
