PetroChem Wire logoBoth homopolymer and copolymer injection grade polypropylene pellet and flake prices fell last week.

HoPP black and mixed color regrind was offered at 34 cents per pound FOB U.S. East Coast, as was CoPP black rergrind, both down 2 cents per pound. Softer demand and competition from prime material contributed to the weakness in recycled, with CoPP black pellets offered last week at 47 to 52 cents per pound east of the Rockies, also down 2 cents per pound.

Prime CoPP was reported late last week at 54.5 cents per pound railcar delivered north of Houston, making it a viable option for some buyers and encouraging some to shift their prime/repro buying ratio in favor of prime.
