PetroChem Wire: Recycled PP prices edged lower in May

PetroChem Wire: Recycled PP prices edged lower in May

June 13, 2014

CoPP black pellet prices consolidated at 62 to 64 cents per pound FOB East Coast at the end of May, which was stable to fractionally lower than earlier in the month.

On regrind, CoPP and HoPP prices were in a range of 40 to 45 cents per pound depending on color, down 3 to 5 cents per pound from early May. This price decline occurred as better deliveries made more scrap available following the immobilizing winter weather experienced in some areas earlier this year.

In the prime PP market, HoPP spot prices were down 1 cent per pound in May to 80.5 cents per pound at the end of the month.
