A collection effort for e-scrap is launched for consumers in Egypt and Ukraine plans for a WEEE program are covered in our look at the global side of the industry.

Egypt's Recyclobekia has partnered with the Rocket Internet offshoot Jumia Egypt to coordinate residential e-scrap pick-up services in exchange for coupons to use toward the purchase of new items through the online retailer. The partnership comes after two years of Recyclobekia working exclusively within the business sector of Egypt.

Ukraine is involved in initial discussions to develop a waste electrical and electronics equipment (WEEE) program to handle the country's mounting e-scrap load.
