The National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) hit a significant milestone this September when it reached 1,000 certified service providers. The NAID AAA Certification is awarded to data destruction locations that pass an auditing program aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance and service excellence.

Asking K-12 students to help spread the recycling word, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries and science education group Jason Learning are hosting a nationwide competition to pick one student-made poster and video that best captures the importance of recycling old cellphones. Students interested in submitting a poster or video can visit the Jason Learning website here.

Sims Recycling Solutions has become an official sponsor of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks. As part of the new partnership, Sims will host three electronics recycling events in the parking lot of the stadium, raffling off prizes, including free Sharks tickets, to fans that bring in their end-of-life electronics.
