PetroChem Wire: Recycled HIPS prices drop In October

By Editorial Staff, Plastics Recycling Update

Oct. 16, 2013

Prices for recycled polystyrene declined in the first half of October, with both HIPS pellet and GPPS regrind falling a penny.

Offers of HIPS white pellets at 69 cents per pound, FOB U.S. East Coast, found little buying interest. GPPS mixed color offers at 28 cents per pound also failed to generate buying interest. In the prime polystyrene market, prices for HIPS rose by 2 cents in the first half of October, with the mid-month market at $1.03 per pound on the U.S. Gulf.
