The world’s largest consumer of recovered fiber recorded a 5.8 percent increase in sales in its last fiscal year to $4.7 billion.
Nine Dragons Paper, the giant Chinese paper and paperboard producer, shipped 12 million tons of finished product during the past year. As a result, gross profits grew 6.2 percent to $751.7 million dollars. The company says "all paper machines operated at nearly full capacity."
Nine Dragons added 1.2 million tons per year of production capacity in its last fiscal year and can now produce 14.2 million tons per year of recycled paper and paperboard. By the end of 2016, Nine Dragons will be operating 41 paper machines in China and Vietnam, the company says.
Much of the fiber consumed in Nine Dragon's mills comes from North America and is purchased by its America Chung Nam buying arm.
