PetroChem Wire: September rPET prices hold steady

Prime PET prices are up 3 cents, reaching highs of 83 cents per pound for September, but recycled prices are holding steady this month.

The price of rPET scrap bales, for post-consumer bottles, is pegged at 17.5-18.5 cents per pound FOB U.S. East Coast. In the recycled PET market, clear pellets meeting FDA specifications are 78-79 cents per pound FOB USEC. In the regrind market, rPET strapping green fell a penny this month to 25-27 cents per pound FOB US East Coast.
