The electronics recycling subsidiary of the Hugo Neu Corporation, WeRecycle!, is being rebranded as Hugo Neu Recycling. Wendy Kelman Neu, chairman and CEO of the Hugo Neu group, explained the decision in a company press release, stating: "Over time, WeRecycle! has become a closer part of the Hugo Neu family, so it made perfect sense to rebrand the company."

Walmart has announced it will launch a smartphone trade-in program beginning Sept. 21 that will allow customers to trade-in their current smartphone for a store credit to apply toward a new smartphone. Walmart's partner, CExchange, has pledged that the program will boost recycling efforts and reduce landfilling of end-of-life and used electronics.

HP has introduced a comprehensive suite of IT services targeting data management and security while ensuring compliance with federal and global regulations. A data erasure service that walks customers through the sanitization process and offers confirmation once the process is fully completed is included in the suite.

On the heels of Apple's release of two new cell phones, the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, Australian product stewardship group MobileMuster produced an innovative infographic aimed at encouraging those already lining up to get the new Apple products to think first before throwing out their old cell phones.
