A newly installed polypropylene reprocessing line at a local paper and plastic recycling facility in Somerset, Kentucky is giving the operation an added boost. Somerset Recycling Services will be able to handle an additional 8 million to 10 million pounds of materials per year, adding to the company's current output of more than 120 million pounds of material annually.

Coca-Cola has teamed up with England's grocery store chain Sainsbury's to promote its Don't Waste — Create campaign. An advertisement for the campaign will be featured on Sainsbury's website, linking visitors to additional information about the value of recycling and inventive ways to reuse plastic bottles, including as bird feeders and plant pots.

Synthetic turf company AstroTurf has developed the first AstroTurf recycling program. The company's Dalton, Georgia recycling facility will receive and process end-of-life fields, converting them into new plastics for a variety of uses and products.
