PetroChem Wire: Most recycled PE prices fall in October

By Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling

Lower scrap bale prices and muted demand depressed repro and regrind recycled HDPE prices in late October.

HDPE HMW film MC pellet was sold at 51 cents per pound – 2 cents lower than mid-October deals. Regrind deals were done up to 46 cents per pound, still down a penny. HDPE frac melt pipe regrind was sold at 38-39 cents per pound in late October, down 2 cents from the previous month.

With dairy melt bale prices near 30 cents per pound in late October, down about 4 cents from September, there is bearish pressure on these prices in November. LD/LLD MC film pellet prices were steady at 40-42 cents per pound in late October.
